Caribbean Cruise on the Norwegian Escape
Our next adventure is just around the corner! We had such a good time on our first cruise with all our friends for my 30th birthday that when the opportunity came up to do another one with some of our best friends, we said YES without much hesitation.
However, for those of you who remember the planning nightmares I dealt with on the last cruise, it should be obvious that we aren't cruising with Royal Caribbean again. Instead, Adam found an amazing deal with Norwegian Cruise Line, getting us a package with a FREE OPEN BAR. Can I get a hell yeah?!
This package is called Free At Sea, and it's something that NCL offers on a fairly regular basis, so you could take advantage of it too! We booked at a time that the package also included free specialty dining, free shore excursions, and free airfare for the second guest.
All of this sounds too good to be true, and in a way, it is. They use the term "free" very liberally, but we are going to do a full breakdown of all the perks after our cruise so we can review all the positives and negatives in each category for you.
This is our first time cruising with NCL and our first time going to most of the places we’re visiting, so we are obviously VERY excited! Our itinerary this time includes:
1 night in Port Canaveral before we get on the cruise ship. We’re staying on a small boat Airbnb!
2 days at sea on the cruise ship. We didn’t get any sea days on our last cruise, so this will be great for us to get to know the ship better so we can tell you about all the fun stuff to do.
A port in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, where we will explore on our own around downtown, museums, restaurants, bars, and the beach
A day in St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, where we hope to revisit the Skyride to Paradise Point to try their famous Baileys Bushwackers drink, among other activities
A morning in Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, probably at the beach drinking rum
A day at Norwegian’s pristine private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay!
2 nights in Orlando after the cruise so we can hit up the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios! I am a total nerd for that stuff, just FYI.
We have SO many exciting things on the horizon and we will have SO much to talk about when we get back! Here are some of the blog articles you can expect to see from us about this cruise:
